To be able to control the OPUS Smart Home with one or more mobile devices, the OPUS Smart Home Gateway is required. It enables the control of all components marked "works with OPUS Smart Home Gateway" via different software solutions. There are no limits to your wishes. Whether, Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Home or other software solutions, the intelligent connection causes that the OPUS Smart Home can be controlled and managed via smartphone, TV, tablet and smart watch - from home, on the road or via voice assistant. Networkable devices from other manufacturers can also be combined with OPUS on a software basis. This cross-manufacturer compatibility enables a wide range of application and expansion options for the system, e.g. with Philips Hue light bulbs.
You can teach via the OPUS SmartHome Gateway all OPUS products that are marked with "works with OPUS Smart Home Gateway" in the myOPUS-Shop. You can then integrate the Smart Home products of other manufacturers into your OPUS Smart Home via control software, e.g. Apple HomeKit or Amazon Alexa.
Per OPUS Smart Home Gateway a maximum of 150 OPUS devices can be integrated.
The QR codes for scanning and teaching in the OPUS products are located on the respective product packaging. Alternatively, you can scan the QR code directly from the product. It is also printed there in an easy-to-find location. For the OPUS BRiDGE switches, you have to pull off the wireless attachment. There you will find the QR code on the back.
To protect against hacking, we recommend, for example, the following measures: 1. The digital components used should be properly projected, professionally installed, and regularly updated and maintained to provide early warning through automatic switching processes. 2. prevent third parties from reading your data. Secure the digitally controlled devices against unauthorized operation. 4. Secure the digitally controlled devices reliably against external signals, power failure and malfunctions. 5. Use secure passwords. Do not duplicate passwords. Install a firewall and an antivirus program. 7. Protect your WLAN, e.g. with strong WLAN encryption.
